Manitoba starts accepting applications for PNP
Starting
from 30 April 2015, Manitoba, a province in Canada has commenced accepting
applications for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. It is a program outlined
to attract skilled professionals and their dependents to settle successfully in
the province on permanent basis.
The
Manitoba Employment part of the category enables specific applicants who are
working in Manitoba at present to file an application. Manitoba employment can
receive applications all through the year. If you were being nominated for Canada
immigration under the PNP program, then your application will be fast-tracked.
Manitoba’s new
Expression of Interest approach
Manitoba
also introduced a new “'Expression of Interest” strategy to expedite processing
for people holding skills that are required in Manitoba’s labor market. Skilled
professionals who are interested in applying to the MPNP must create an
expression of interest as their first step to immigrate to Manitoba.
Individuals who satisfy the criteria of any of the existing MPNP’s program
categories will be accepted in a pool, where prospective candidates will be
ranked on the basis of points system. Points will be awarded for language
skills, work experience, age, educational qualifications and nature of
adaptability. Applicants must acquire minimum 60 points to apply under the
system, and the highest ranking candidates will be invited to file an MPNP
application during regular draws from the pool.
How points will
be allotted?
Under
MPNP point system, applicants who are in between 21 to 41 years can gain
maximum points for age. And, points will be awarded to candidates whose
language skills are at par with Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 or above.
These aspects may benefit applicants who are not eligible for other Provincial Nominee
Programs or economic programs.
What are the
requirements?
Points
will be given for adaptability, for instance 20 points will be given for having
a close relative in Manitoba or 10 for having a friend or a distant family
member in Manitoba. A Manitoba supporter must be the close relative of the
applicant and should:
• Furnish documents stating they reside and
established in Manitoba and have been residing in the province for a continuous
period of one year
• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Prove that you hold strong relationships
with the applicant and Manitoba
In
order to prove that you are a close relative to the applicant, you should hold
any of the following relationships with the applicant:
• Niece or nephew
• First cousin
• Aunt or uncle
• Sister or brother
• Grandmother or grandfather
• Mother or father
